INRAE presentation
INRAE, the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment was born on January 1, 2020. It resulted from the merger between the National Institute of Agricultural Research and the National Institute of Research in Science and Technology for the Environment and Agriculture.
INRAE is a national Institute, which work on adaptation to climate change, food and nutritional security, agricultural transitions, preservation of natural resources, restoration of biodiversity, anticipation and management of risks. It is also related to territorialized issues, which include the living conditions and remuneration of farmers, the economic competitiveness of businesses, territorial planning, and access to healthy and diversified food for everyone on Earth.
Work environment, missions and activities
Currently working on several European and National research project, related to digital agriculture, digitalization and sustainability, agroecology, data economy for food systems, food systems transition, our team is looking for a free-lance or a short-term hiring to complete its team. Our work is focusing on contributing in thinking and finding new way to combine new practices in respect to Humans, the society and the environment.
The new team member will conduct work at the intersection between agriculture, economy, digital technology and innovation. The selected person will work under the supervision of the Reseach Director and her Project Manager at INRAE and will be involved in international teams in an international environment.
Job Description
Main Responsibilities
Research, analysis and drafting
- Carry out research, analytical reports, and literature reviews
- Contribute to the writing of European and National Project Deliverables
- Contribute to research publications in peer-review international journals.
Other duties
- Participate in the organization of in-person and online workshops
- Participate in virtual meetings, missions and events as necessary.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned, in particular as requested by the WP1 Leader and Manager.
Training and skills
Qualifications
Human Qualities
- Self-motivated and self-driven; Strong motivation for learning
- A strong interest in Digital Agriculture, Economic issues and the Environment
- Ability to work in independence
- Previous experience of writing reports in English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Academic Background
- An advanced university degree in agricultural economics, digital agriculture and environmental, social science, or related field.
- Holding a PhD or a Master with experience in research
Professional Background
- A strong experience in research and analysis in economy, social science or agronomy acquired in a national or international organisation or research institute supported by academic publications
- Demonstrated working experience in an international context related to economy, social science or agronomy
Languages
- Fluency and Proficiency in English (C1)
- French language would be an asset
