Open competitions for research scientists - Call for research projects (CRCN)

Every two years, INRAE organises open competitions to recruit research scientists on permanent positions. This recruitment campaign is aimed principally at researchers at the beginning of their careers who have already shown their ability to produce research of excellence under supervision, attested by high-level publications.
Candidates must be prepared to work independently and propose an ambitious research project in INRAE’s main areas of research: Agriculture, Food, Environment.
In accordance with the missions assigned to INRAE research staff, you must not only contribute to the acquisition of new knowledge in your fields of expertise but also help transfer the results of their research to society: social and economic applications, dissemination of scientific and technical information, training in and through research, and developing scientific exchanges with other countries. You must above all make progress on the research topic given to you and systematically publish the results obtained.
Schedule for the 2026 recruitment campaign
- Opening date for applications: May 19, 2026
- Deadline for applications: July 9, 2026
- Pre-selections (on scientific file): October 8, 2026
- Final selections (interview): December 10 & 11, 2026
- Starting date for appointments: from February 2027
Registrations closed on 9 July 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Paris time. The selection process is underway. Applicants will be informed directly of the outcome of their application.
Shortlisted candidates (based on applications) will be interviewed by the selection board (final selection). Physical presence of candidates is absolutely required during the final selection. Competitions results of 1st round shortlisting and 2nd round final selection will be notified by email from no-reply (consult regularly your emails and spams).
For each candidate, the total interview time is 35 minutes.
