Work environment, missions and activities
- The position is available at INRAE Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, in the UMR Agroécologie. The UMR brings together 350 permanent and contract staff to understanding to achieve economically- and environmentally-sustainable cropping systems. The European project manager post is to support the work and functioning of the TRANSFORM research project, funded for by the EU HORIZON Mission: Adaptation to Climate Change (HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-01-01 call) until 31st May 2029. TRANSFORM will work in 7 of the 11 nations of the Atlantic Biogeographic Region of Europe, uniting 18 research and technical partners. The work of the project is to innovate crop rotations as climate change solutions that meet the economic, agronomic and environment needs of Europe’s regions and farmers. The project will develop tools and methods to support EC, EU Member States, Regions and Associated Countries in progress towards the goals of the EU Mission: Adaptation to Climate Change.
- Your training and/or experience will have given you a sound understanding of the European funding system and the organization and operation of research in France and Europe. You will be familiar with public finance, accounting and contract law. You should be able to communicate internally and externally in both French and English. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a wide range of stakeholders (researchers, administrators, funders) in France and abroad.
Your Activities and duties will be to:
- Support the coordinator in the management of the consortium
- Provide day-to-day assistance to partners on administrative and financial issues
- Implement communication between partners
- Work with the project partners to disseminate and exploit the project outcomes
- Monitor the indicators (milestones and deliverables) requested by the EU, follow up on review committees, and update project progress documents and work plan

Willingness to travel, across the EU, for the frequent meetings planned during the project.
Training and skills
- Recommended training: Master's degree in European affairs, Project management or Management of European projects, and/or appropriate practical experience.
- Knowledge required: Sound understanding of the European funding system and the organization and operation of research in France and Europe.
- Appreciated experience: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders (researchers, administration, funders) in France and abroad.
- Skills sought: Project management and familiarity with public finance, accounting and contract law.
