INRAE proposes a number of PhD contracts every year. We will welcome you into our research units, where you will be closely involved in the scientific production of the Institute. PhD students, you are one of the driving forces of our research community.

Your research environment
Every day, our host research teams carry out their mission of training students in and through research. You will be paid on a contract basis, most of the time in collaboration with INRAE's various public or private partners, with a regional or national scope. Funding can take several forms (INRAE PhD programmes, co-financed PhD programmes, CIFRE PhD funding, etc.).
Subject to the conditions set by each specific contract, any person with a Master's degree (Master 2 in the French system) or equivalent, of any nationality, can apply for a PhD. You must first enrol in a doctoral school.
Your research activity will be in line with the projects of the INRAE research unit that will temporarily host you within the institution. .
Supervision
PhD supervisors have a proven track-record on research supervision. They have the knowledge, experience, expertise and commitment to provide you with the support needed.
They are committed to setting aside regular time for you. Your ongoing assessment is organised around structured and regular meetings, so that you make the most of this transfer of knowledge, gradually acquire autonomy and develop innovative methods and approaches.
You will be monitored by a PhD committee. This committee meets once a year, assesses the feasibility and relevance of your PhD proposal, monitors your progress, makes recommendations, and gives their opinion on the structure of the manuscript.
